Dorothy Gilmour presented a new Workshop recently to young female Community Leaders from the African Youth Initiative.
These young women headed by Abak Dhieu, Girl Chat Director, immersed themselves in this sobering area of our culture: Mental Health Literacy and Prevention of family abuse including the mandatory reporting of children who witness abuse or are abused.
So many terrific questions and discussions around the case studies. Dorothy was so pleased to be able to inform these community leaders about recognising signs of mental health issues but also most importantly, that they would seek debriefing and have their own model of self care.
