'I like the 3Rs and find that they are easy to remember and incorporate into countries, especially those that value women, children, and elderly....and to introduce in communities and countries that are working on gender and elderly issues, and those countries that are aspiring to work on the issues....
I truly believe that we need to support SAFE Families in our countries, communities, and our homes. This is an important issue with still too many casualties and suffering......as you noted, we still have a ways to go and I am committed to joining you in this important initiative. The 3Rs sums it up so well!
Unfortunately, the US still has high numbers of women and children that are not safe and seek shelter. It became extremely apparent during the COVID pandemic when people were confined to homes......and domestic violence is still a major issue in the U.S. While women can talk about it, they still need support to recover from their situation. I also worry about women and children where they do not have a voice and are not able to speak up for fear of punishment. Yes, I am all in on Rotary SAFE Families - Building a Culture of Peace!'
